In New Orleans, music happens all over the place.

It doesn't stop.

You know, it's a representation of the city,

it's a representation of the people.

If you come into New Orleans

you know what you're getting into.

Hey Julian.

What's up, man?

What's up, bro?

How you doin'? Good to see you.

Likewise, likewise.

When it comes to the music that is made in New Orleans,

what does that mean to you?

Brass bands are the culture of New Orleans.

You know, there's food, music.

It's the essential representation of New Orleans.

People come from all over the world to hear us perform,

to hear us play, just to get a taste of it.

What would you say is your cause,

or your mission with the music?

We are creating relationships.

We are creating memories, friendship.

You might meet somebody at a second line,

or at a club, at a performance,

and the one thing that brought them together was the music.

And y'all still play around here?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

We play every Thursday night,

and that's known around the world.

[brass band music begins]

The music and the community in New Orleans,

it's like one in one.

It doesn't exist without the other.

And it's all positivity.

When the music hits 'em, everything's out the window, man.

It sucks you in, like you kind of just in awe.

A lot of times it's all improvisational, man.

And it comes from the heart.

You can't explain it.

You just have to be there.

Cheers. You ready?

Cheers, man.
